A clinical psychologist hired to review Amber Heard and Johnny Depp's relationship has claimed that the actress suffers from two personality disorders - and pointed out that symptoms of the disorders include 'taking on the personality' of loved ones and 'dressing like them' - days after Heard was accused of copying her ex-husband's courtroom outfits.
Exes Heard, 35, and Depp, 58 - who tied the knot in 2015, and were married for one year before Heard filed for divorce in 2016 - have been battling it out in court in recent weeks.
The trial, which is still underway in Virginia, is attempting to determine if a 2018 Washington Post essay written by Heard, in which she accused the actor of domestic abuse, defamed Depp.
Last week, many social media users accused Heard of purposely picking out clothes for the $100 million defamation trial that looked similar to ensembles that Depp previously wore in an attempt to 'play mind games' on him.
Now, a clinical psychologist has given a possible explanation as to why she might be attempting to dress like her ex-husband, and the doctor claimed that it's most likely because Heard suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

Clinical psychologist Dr. Shannon Curry (pictured) has given a possible explanation as to why Heard might be attempting to dress like her ex-husband, claiming that it's most likely because Heard suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
Curry, who was called to the stand by Depp's legal team on Tuesday, explained that people with BPD - which she believes Heard (pictured) has - often have 'identity issues' which results in them dressing like the people 'they want to be around'

Clinical and forensic psychologist Dr. Shannon Curry, who was called to the stand by Depp's legal team on Tuesday, explained that people with BPD often have 'identity issues' which results in them dressing like the people 'they want to be around.'
'They take on the personality of the people they want to be around. The way they dress. Interest. The way they talk,' explained Dr. Curry to the jury.

On the first day of the trial, on April 11, Depp was seen wearing a Gucci tie, which had a bumblebee on it.
And two days later, on April 13, Heard sported a very similar tie, which also had a bee on it.
People also pointed out that Depp donned a gray suit for the first day of the trial, and Heard was then seen wearing a pants and shirt combo of the same color to the courthouse on April 12.
Then, on April 18, Depp showed up to court with his long hair pulled back into a ponytail.
The next day, on April 19, Heard had her long locks styled in a similar way - and many people thought it was not a coincidence. If you want to check out more info on johnny depp amber heard take a look at our own web site.
He has also worn glasses during many days of the trial, and Heard was seen using a pair that looked just like his on April 21.
Depp has continuously denied Heard's allegations against him, and is seeking at least $50 million in compensatory damages and a punitive award of at least $350,000, along with attorneys' fees and court costs.

The clinical and forensic psychologist told the court that she concluded Heard had traits consistent with (BPD), as well as Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD) - two conditions found in people with patterns of emotional instability and attention-seeking behavior.
While conducting her evaluation, Curry explained she reviewed various case materials including Heard's medical records, mental health treatment records, court exhibits, witness statements, and audio and video recordings.
She also met with the Aquaman star for several hours over the course of two separate dates in December 2021, before finally coming to a diagnosis.
She concluded that Heard 'grossly exaggerated' her post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after her relationship with Depp ended.
Dr. Curry noted that Heard's BPD was marked by an 'underlying terror of abandonment,' and added that somebody with the condition often tends to make 'desperate attempts' to stop it from happening. These could be 'very extreme behaviors,' she added.
Curry also said that as a result of these disorders, somebody like Heard could appear charming at the start of a friendship or relationship, but that they could then turn dark easily.
'You'll see relationships start very intensely, extremely close,' she said.
'This might be their perfect soulmate and initially everything seems great but reality sets in, people are not perfect.

'Most of us accept people as a whole, [but] with a person with BPD, things are in these extremes - that person goes from being idealized to dumpster, they are totally devalued, they're the worst.
'Then there will be a repair because the person with this disorder does feel remorse.'
Curry stated that somebody with BPD is usually 'very, very interested in looks and utilizes their looks to get the respect they're looking for.'
Curry called Heard a 'sophisticated' and 'calculated' case of BPD - adding that from her analysis, Heard seemed like somebody who would 'hit you where it hurts' and that she could be 'very, very destructive.'
Meanwhile, the hallmarks of HPD, Dr. Curry explained, include an 'overly dramatic presentation' and 'quick shifts between emotions,' such as going from animated to sad very quickly.
Those with HPD have a 'hypersensitivity to being slighted' and could melt down in the middle of a restaurant if somebody showed up two minutes later, Curry said.
She added: 'They will make a lot of accusations, reactivity, a lot of escalation, they can react aggressively, physically prevent partners from trying to leave.
'Often they will be abusive to their partners, sometimes physically restrain them.'
She stated that people with HPD, such as Heard, live a life marked by 'drama and shallowness,' adding that the underlying drive is to 'always be the center of attention' and without it, a person with HPD would feel 'pretty empty.'
Dr. Curry testified that she was initially hired early last year to review files in the legal battle between the two feuding exes and identify behavior in their relationship that may be consistent with 'intimate partner violence.'

Several people took to Twitter last week to share their thoughts on Depp and Heard's similar looks, with one calling her 'sick in the head' for 'mimicking' his clothes
The psychology expert, however, revealed that her role would shift several months later in October, when she was asked to provide a psychological evaluation of Heard instead.
Every aspect of the trial has been heavily covered by the media and compulsively analyzed by thousands of fans around the world - including what the two stars have worn each day.
Tons of viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Depp and Heard's alike looks last week, with one calling her 'sick in the head' for 'mimicking' his clothes.
They wrote: 'Is anyone gonna address why Amber is mimicking Johnny's outfits every day? This woman is sick in the head.'
'Amber Heard is playing mind games with Johnny Depp by copying his outfits in court,' added another person.
'The fact that Amber Heard is copying Johnny [Depp's] court outfits is something else... Nobody would ever copy their abusers outfits,' said someone else.
Others took to TikTok to discuss Heard and Depp's outfits, with some videos showing off their similar looks racking up millions of views. Stills from a TikTok video in which the user discussed their matching Gucci ties are shown

Some people were especially outraged by Heard's choice of clothing, since Depp's sister Christi Dembrowski testified in court that she once overheard Heard slamming Depp's sense of style. He is pictured in court on April 12
'Amber Heard is very scary and manipulative! I realized that she is dressing and mimicking the same outfits Johnny is wearing everyday during this trial,' read a fourth tweet.
A different user tweeted, 'Amber Heard actively copying Johnny's outfits every day at court is freaking me the Hell out, like, b***h, you are crazy, what the Hell?'
'Amber Heard is unhinged,' agreed someone else. 'We knew that, but shorty wearing the same outfits as Johnny Depp in court is next level.'
Another person said they thought she was trying to 'ensure she's still messing with her victim' by copying his outfits, and called it 'disgusting;' while a different Twitter user claimed it 'screamed psychological abuse.'
'The man is literally in court and she's still mocking him,' they added.
'Amber Heard mirroring all of Johnny Depp's outfits is a continued attempt to torment her victim,' wrote another person. 'Didn't think she could be more vile.'
Others took to TikTok to discuss Heard and Depp's similar outfits, with some videos showing off their looks racking up millions of views.
Some people were especially outraged by Heard's choice of clothing since Depp's sister Christi Dembrowski testified in court that she once overheard Heard slamming Depp's sense of style.
'Johnny told Amber that I had just had a meeting with Dior and they were interested in him,' Dembrowski stated.
'Her reaction to that was she was in disbelief and sort of disgust because she said, "Dior - why would Dior want to do business with you? They are about class and they are about style and you don't have style."
'It was insulting. Taking away that one moment, that insult is there.'
In the 2018 article in question, Heard wrote about being a survivor of domestic abuse but never mentioned Depp by name.
However, Depp's lawyer Benjamin Chew said it was clear Heard was referencing the Hollywood leading man.
The trial, which is still underway in Virginia, is attempting to determine if a 2018 Washington Post essay written by Heard (pictured right on April 13), in which she accused the actor of domestic abuse, defamed Depp (pictured left on April 12)
Depp (pictured left on April 14) has continuously denied Heard's (pictured right on April 18) allegations against him, and is seeking at least $50 million in compensatory damages and a punitive award of at least $350,000, along with attorneys' fees and court costs
Depp was accused of slapping the American actress three times in 2013, after she laughed at his infamous 'Wino Forever' tattoo, and attacking her in a cocaine and alcohol-fueled tirade over accusations that she cheated on him with 'rapist' James Franco.
During the trial, Depp stated that Heard (pictured on April 20) was the one who became violent when their relationship soured
But now, nearly seven years after Depp and Heard tied the knot, the Pirates of the Caribbean star stated in court that Heard was the one who became violent when their relationship soured.
Depp claimed that the couple had frequent arguments that included 'demeaning name calling' and 'bullying' by her, when he took the stand last Wednesday.
He also claimed that Heard threw a bottle of vodka at him during an argument which ensued after he asked her to sign a prenup in 2015, and resulted in his middle finger being cut off.
The star also accused her of spreading human fecal matter on his side of their shared bed in 2016.
Attorneys for Heard have argued that she told the truth in her piece, and that her opinion was protected as free speech under the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment.
Heard is seeking $100 million in damages, and has alleged that his legal team falsely accused her of fabricating the claims against Depp.
